A few days ago I had this great idea for a disney movie. I want the opinion of others on the plot so far and as only a few choice friends read my blog I figured this was a good place to test it. If you would like pictures of the characters I have sketched them out with minor changes to be made.
Major characters
1. Melody Rose- Ginger British American super heroine whose powers change with her mood ex.(sad=water/flood anger= Fire etc...). Her only weakness is pain so if she is hurt or experiencing pain she is void of all super powers. Melody's best friend is her mentor who is introduced in the movie as her friend/older sister like character. This is to leave room for an origin story if I want one later. Her mentor taught her to control her powers to an extent and helps her fight basic crime. Melody's sidekick is a pet rock because Olaf was a snowman so I'll do what I want. Her rock doesn't talk but rather makes gestures like Pascal from Tangled but is a female and is a good deal more useful in fighting crime. Her enemy is also her love interest because in real life it is often the same person. Melody's conflict in the movie would be that her mentor and love interest are good and evil so obviously they don't quite get along. This becomes a problem when Melody is tempted towards evil as equally as she is to good. Her primary colour is black but she wears red and green from time to time to match her mood.
2. Iggy Mai- Asian American who has curly dark hair is shorter and slightly tanned almost Greek in appearance if you know Phoebe from color guard then like her because not enough disney characters look like her. She has the ability to create storms. Iggy grew up in New York City as an orphan and went on to teach Melody to use her powers taking on an older sister figure. She is the moral compass of the story but dislikes conflict. Near the end of the movie she is mortally wounded but Melody in her emotions is able to heal her. She does not like Vance and wants him dead if possible to keep Melody out of trouble. Iggy is young but because of her surroundings growing up she is sickly often and rarely fights with Melody if at all due to the danger of it. She is however able to train Melody with ease. Iggy has a fondness for coffee and loves the colour purple.
3. Jewelia- Melody's pet rock. Not much is revealed about Jewels however it is well known that she fell from space and is an animated character. Jewls is highly critical of Iggy but not of Vance despite knowing her longer. Jewels is sassy and is able to fight as well as Melody at times because rocks do not feel pain they only inflict it.
4. Vance- He is genuinely attractive and he knows it or at least thats what I was going for. His face structure is longer, he has large lips, and defined eyebrows but I am not quite decided on the look of his hair nose and eyes. Vance is the kind of cruel that Hans from Frozen is. He is only interested if he gets something out of it and he is the vain, despicable, deplorable jerk everyone loves anyway. To describe him as plainly as possible he is as cruel to citizens as Kuzco was at the beginning of the emperors new groove and other than that his personality ranges from Gaston to Loki. He's THAT kind of awful. Vance represents evil and destruction but is somehow able to draw in the naive Melody. He is her love interest as well as her villain. He is seen mortally wounding Iggy who hated him in the first place and while Melody mends it she somehow is able to convert his evil to good (Iv'e not worked that bit out yet but I'll get around to it). Once he is turned good Melody becomes disinterested with him as a love interest but he officially is allowed onto the team after a bit of argument from Iggy. If I can work it in I want Iggy to be his official love interest but I might not be able to bring myself to it.
The plot in it's worth is a girl with super powers in equality to her emotions falls for a bad guy but knows he's bad. In doing this she falls throughout the movie closer to being completely evil as she blocks out those who care most. At the last minute she is forced into making a decision between good and evil her friend and her love. She chose her friend and healed her. This somehow caused such a reaction as to turn Vance her love interest good (lets sum it up with disney magic). The thrill is gone and Melody is no longer interested the way she was before because deep down she wanted the evil but her obligations told her she could not give into them. This movie would star mostly girls which would be nice for a change and would teach young girls and boys that obligation and family are more important than one's own wishes. The movie has a limit of three songs with words. The movie's title would be Torn and the catchphrase is "careful what you wish for cause you just might get it" which actually has more to do with the movie than you would think but there must be something left to the imagination. :3 Let me know what you think and if you really are itching to see the characters I can text them to you just message me with your name and I will get back to you.
